Recently, GringoTree and the Hearts of Gold offices relocated to a larger building. During that process, we experienced what many GringoTree subscribers no doubt face when trying to find an apartment, condo, or house to live in.

Rentals moved very fast and at the Cuenca rental websites we visited, it was unclear which listings were and weren’t available. When we made appointments, sometimes the agent was late or didn’t show up at all.

Along the way, however, we did find a perfect fit: the right building and a realtor who handled the transaction professionally. He was always on time, didn’t hesitate to present a difficult offer, and walked the owners and us through the final signing without a hitch.

After we moved, he contacted us to see if we had any problems with the building. He also informed us that he was leaving his agency and would let us know when he joined another.

This prompted us to take the next step in the expansion of our own services to the expat community of Cuenca.

Announcing a New Service for our Readers
GringoTree Real Estate
Meet Roberto Cruz and the GringoTree Real Estate Team
The Real Estate Section

All the posts seeking rentals and advertising property now appear in the real estate pages, rather than among the daily posts on the home page.

In addition owners now have the option to list their rentals and properties for sale for longer periods of time than one day; that provides a better chance to reach all subscribers.

The database entries now have a convenient reply email to expedite responses.

In addition, continuing to make the use of the best technology, Jonathan has incorporated a highly versatile search system into the property listings. This allows you to identify available properties quickly and to ensure all the specifics meet your needs.

To inaugurate this service, we are pleased to present a real professional, Roberto Cruz.

Roberto is trilingual: Spanish, English, and German. This has facilitated real estate transactions that cross several cultures. Roberto also impressed us with his drive, which will benefit anyone he serves. And with 5 years serving in the real estate marketplace, Roberto has the experience, the contacts, and the expertise to navigate this fast-changing landscape.

In order to offer a broad array of properties for rent and sale, Roberto works with many friends and colleagues in the Cuenca real estate industry, GringoTree partner David Morrill among them. David is the author of several books and many articles on Ecuador, Cuenca, and the international real estate market and is a frequent presenter at international conferences for prospective expatriates.

To establish our database, Jonathan Mogrovejo, manager of GringoTree operations, has sourced a program that, we believe, you will find to be superior to others in Cuenca.  At the same time, thanks to Roberto’s extensive connections, the GringoTree system will offer a wide range of rentals. We hope that this reciprocal arrangement will help inaugurate an MLS-type arrangement in Cuenca.

Our goal is for renters and buyers to fulfill their housing requirements most efficiently, and for property owners to reach a large market of potential customers. As our activity level increases, Roberto will be adding agents who meet the highest standards to serve you.

We trust you’ll find the new Real Estate Service to be a welcome addition to GringoTree.com.
