“The Love of Don Perlimplín with Belisa in her Garden,” is a short play by the most acclaimed Spanish poet, Federico García Lorca. This is a unique opportunity to see a Lorca play in Cuenca. If you like the theatre, if you are studying Spanish or if you simply want to have a great evening then you cannot miss this theatrical jewel and enhance your knowledge of the Spanish language and culture.
The play is a heartbreaking tale of an old man marrying a young woman with a very unexpected twist. Andrés Zambrano, the Director, has set the play in a newly restored colonial house where he takes advantage of every space to communicate the magic of Lorca through movement, gesture and imagery worth the poet’s every word.
Please come and support this young group of people who are interested in presenting classical productions in new and imaginative ways. You won’t regret it.
